I borrowed an Actron and got 0 codes. Assuming that would read codes for my truck, it makes me feel better that I'm not getting any low fuel pressure codes. On the same topic, I got my blue spring kit from Riffraff Diesel today and I also joined cleanmpg.com and will probably pull the trigger on the ScanGauge2 and the fuel pressure test kit next week.

Pricey but two digital gauges in one.
You could put fuel pressure & egt
or whatever together.
I wanted fuel pressure and voltage.
A pillar pod and still have my grab handle.
Sg2 is also great to have.
I have pics in my gallery.

No critter named low fuel pressure code in the 6.0L PSD
there is not a sensor for that. The code is when you
find bad injectors.

I thought sure I saw that there was a code for it. Oh well, I'm doing the blue spring upgrade regardless.

You'll save me $15 with the recommendation on the ScanGaugeII and about $300 in labor from me reading the tech. folder and doing things on my own. So I'm around $315ish in your debt!
Glad to help, and I appreciate the kind words!

Is my spring already done?

I have a fuel leak from the top of my Regulator. I can't visualize the crack but when running, fuel is coming out of the top where you put the socket on.

I am the original owner. I did not recall the dealer ever working on the regulator and called them and they confirmed they never touched it, tho they said they tested the pressure and it is good. Not sure why it is leaking now.

My question. I have 2 blue dots on my regulator. I have attached the pic. Does this mean I have the upgraded spring? Heading down to the parts counter for the kit, but would be happy to just swap out the cap.

My truck is a 2006 with 68,000 miles on it.

It is leaking from the black cap? If so I would buy a fuel filter and then you can replace the rubber o-ring that is there, because I have a feeling that if it is not already torqued to 12 nm it is likely damaged and just removing it to inspect you will most likely need a new one. Is it leaking from around the edges? Or is the cap cracked? Sorry but I'm not sure about the blue dots

yep it was cracked. I just had the Fuel Filters changed 4 weeks ago at the dealer. I picked up a new cap and O-ring and went over to the Service desk. They said bring in the cracked cap and we will comp you the new one.

Now to figure out whether the spring has been changed......

Will the Scanguage II read fuel pressure?

My original cover had a yellow dot. The cover that came in my kit had no paint markings so the installing Tech would have to mark it. I haven't heard anybody say they do that. My filter housing has some JB Weld or something on the back side. Looking from the inside there are no cracks I can see and no leaks.

I thought I read in this long but great thread that if the blue spring was installed, they marked the cover with a blue mark?

Put the new cap on, no leaks and the Codes P0261 and 0264 have disappeared....for now.

My Scanguage came today too. Going to check on FICM voltage, will it read Fuel Pressure too?

BTW, I can see the crack in the picture I posted. I guess the low light prevented me from seeing it.

Glad you got it fixed! I will CRANK "A Passage to Bangkok" tomorrow in your honor!
You will like the SGII but unfortunately there is no fuel pressure sensor on our trucks for some stupid reason so no way to read it from the data buss. Even if you put one in the provided port on the fuel filter housing it would have to be hooked up to a gauge or one of the other monitors that support adding sensors. Guess I missed the post about the blue dots.

2112,

I believe you asked twice and I didn't see where anyone answered you. From what I've read about it, the ScanGauge does not read fuel pressure.

looks like I need to add the sensor to make it happen. Then find a way to read it while under load.

Well i have done the rad cap and the thermostat mod and tonight i'm doing the Blue spring. I wish i had it when i did the thermostat lol. oh well.

wish me luck all i have to do is
buy my SCT tuner and should i get a delete or a egr cooler.
See If I do the delete then i need the tuner.
What if i do the EGR Cooler and the tuner and un plug the EGR valve does that make sence.
