EBPV Not working Right

Hi guys I have just noticed that My EBPV will kick in and only stay on for about 1 min. then it just stays in high idle. This is my first winter with the truck and dont know if this is normal or not. It seemed to be staying on longer for the first few weeks.

also I am leaking some oil have not found from where yet but do know that the EBPV can leek oil. Where should I look to find out if it is coming from there also could this be causing my problem?

Thanks for any help and Merry Christmas

It's located under the turbo pedestal. Currently mine is staying on when I'm driving, until it is completely warmed up. I'm going to unplug it and put a resistor in it(or it will throw a code).

well I was looking at the oil leak today and I think its coming from the HPOP so Im thinking of putting all new o rings but I have to pull the fuel bowl to do this? If so I think I am going to rebuild by fuel bowl at the same time. and maybe pulling the hole HPOP and replacing the "non serviceable" plug as well

It also looked like i have oil leaking from where the high preser oil line connects to the valve cover. Is there new o rings that I can buy for these also

Yea the EBPV will stay on until the temp gauge is all the way to where it stays at normal temp. Usually goes on when I have the throttle at a constant speed. The turbo has O-rings between it and the pedestal. Also between the pedestal and the block.

I would double check that oil leak just to make sure. I have not had to deal with either the HPOP or the EBPV leaks yet (knock on wood). but from what I know both will cause oil in the valley. To check the ebpv look at the linkage on the bottom of the exhaust side of the turbo and follow that to where it goes into the turbo pedestal, that is the problem area.
If you are leaking there, just remember that it uses the turbo's oil supply to operate the EBPV, so a leak there can shorten the turbo's life by starving it of oil.
