How-To install cab lights
#16
I had originally replaced the outer two sockets with two-wire sockets and installed dual-filament bulbs so they'd light up with the others but also act as turn signals. That got annoying at night reflecting on the hood so I installed the original sockets back in and wired accordingly. I use a switch in the Chrysler overhead console I installed to operate them separately from the parking lights and the center console taps power from the mounting flange of the original, mostly useless interior light that the console covers.

Just get some bullet connectors and put them on your harness. Then it will plug into your stock harness. OR get a cab light harness from a 92-97 truck

I've got a line on a used harness, but thinking I might buy a full set of new lights... No way I'm paying 50 bucks a light from ford though, and no one else seems to carry Truck-Lite around here...

I talked with Brad about that a few weeks ago. They do include new gaskets that are bonded with the lights.

used the ford lights on my 97, paid almost 140 bucks for set of five even with my discount.
then once brad told me about the ryder ones we used them for the 84 build, bought a nos harness and pigtails from ford.
needless to say the ryder ones are the exact same, in quality and appearance.

I just installed mine this past weekend and they look great! thanks for the plans Brad. And ya, drilling the first hole is definenatly the scariest thing. I installed mine in such a way that to turn them on you pull the light lever half way out for the front running lights, and then you flip a switch that installed beside my overdrive button. very impressed with the look.
