97 f150 vs 01 (?) chevy 1500

me and this other guy went to the speed limit (70) it was close until i had to shift..we were really close though. i have magnaflow and a K&N aircharger and i lost, why? is it because im a 4 speed? or because my windows were down? the chevy was stock as far as i can tell.
regular cab short bed 4x4 vs crew cab chevy 1500

you lost because the Chevy has more power. You don't say what engine or gearing either truck has. Your exhaust and K&N won't gain you any power if thats what you were thinking.

He had either a 4.8 or a 5.3 Vortec.............either of which will walk all over a first gen 4.6 in a F-150 "mods" or no.

You want to race, get a Mustang...........or better yet, go to a sanctioned drag strip and stay off the streets.

Hate to admit it...........The Chevy Vortecs are sweet motors. But the new Ford motors have upped the playing field.

like he said the chev had more grunt . the 4.6 is a dain good motor , but a ohv olskool vortec makes a lot more torque than the early 4.6's ............ my 97 gmc was only outclassed in pulling power { i bought it cheap and needed a truck , loaded with all the goodies for 1500 bucks } and that was a 77 dodge 3/4 ton that i swear would pull the world around backwards and you wouldn't know it was there .....................
