Good advice brother, wrapped a heat pad and towel on for an hour, wife's hair dryer for 15 min, lined it up and gave it an open hand jab just below the bend and it popped on. Praise the Lowd!!

Heating pad was a good idea fighting the weather like that.

My plastic pipe sprung a leak in the corrugated part under the air filter. Replaced it with a metal one and boots from Riff-Raff so no more fighting that thing for me .

I I resemble this one, heating the tube with a hair dryer worked for me. I remember cheezit mentioning that and it worked slick for me.

Do not like down time on my truck. Since I fooled with this several hours I decided to invest in the RiffRaff tube to have it fixed by Monday. Half hour after order gave it one last try and it popped on. Oh well, I think the metal intake pipes look more manly than plastic. Also, I am in the learning curve for the new tube.
FWIW the OEM thermostat right on 191*

That water jacket looks brand new, That's what taking care of your truck does for ya. I still have the original thermostat in my truck. Engine still hangs out at 189,190. First vehicle I have ever owned that the thermostat has lasted this long. Bought truck in 03.
