Is your CEL lit? If so, try to have an auto parts store read the codes and post them here.
Can you tell us more about what happens when you try starting the engine. Does the engine turn over normally or sluggishly? Does the engine seem to try start but never fires strongly enough to keep running? Does it turn over normally and doesn't fire at all? How many miles are on the truck? Are all routine maintenance items up to date, especially fuel filter, plugs, spark plug wires? What grade of oil is in the engine. Do you hear the fuel pump run when you first turn the ignition key to the start position.
With answers to questions such as these, we will have more information to work with and then we can help you solve the problem.

What is the trouble code number you get? The ECT could affect the idle speed, maybe the running of the engine. I don't see where it would affect the starting of the engine.
The two things you need for starting are fuel and spark. Have you checked the fuel pressure relief valve and the vacuum line to it? Take a look at the vacuum line to see if there is fuel leaking into from the valve. Also, check the fuel pressure.
