in line heater ?
would any one have and "installed pic" of an inline or circulating heater in their truck? i installed one on my 79 bronco,it lasted 1 day and burnt out i would just like to compare installs to make sure it was done right as my bronco being a wash/u.s.a. truck did not come with block heaters and the 400 will be swapped out for a built 460 next spring i did not want to go through the trouble/expence of block heaters for only 1 winter thanks

Shouldn't be anything to it. Most likely just defective from the start.
Was it the heater hose style or the lower radiator hose style? I have never heard anything good about the lower radiator hose units, but have used the heater hose before.
The only other possibility is installing it in the lower heater hose (return) instead of the upper hose. May not circulate the coolant as well?
Just a thought.
Although if I had to choose one over the others I would pick the oil pan heaters.

thanks guys i think i got it right now on the 1st install i tied in to the hose from the water pump but think i got an air lock due to it going over the alt this time i used a t fitting off the water temp sending unit hole putting the hose fitting straight down and under the alt seems to work good now with the bonus of installing my new oil/temp/volt gauges as the water temp fitting was fairly big with a back up heater when my 460 goes in with block heaters all ready installed regurds joe
