wifes xmas gift idea-good or just good at heart?

so my wife asks me tonight-and i am supposed to forget about this- if i was to get a leveling kit for my truck, if this would be ok? Here is what she was thinking: Daystar Coil Spring Spacers - Daystar Comfort Ride Lift Kits

I told her that was not a good idea, and if she was to get one, to get this: Ford F250/F350 SUPER DUTY, 2008-2010, 4WD ONLY - 2.5" w/ track bar bracket

I know she means well and has a good heart, but I just dont think the daystar product is something i want. What do you guys think? I would like a leveling kit just to bring the front up to match the rear.....i cant lift my truck due to towing a fifth wheel, but I do want to get the stance right.

I have the Readylift leveling kit w/ track bar bracket and like it very much. Only 1 little thing bothered me.... when I had a load on the back, it looked a little like I was driving up hill. I added the Readylift 5" rear spring blocks for just a very slight rake and it's perfect.

Yeah you have to do something with the steering components in a proper kit. You may also need to replace the shocks.

scott this kit includes 2.5" front coils spring spacers and sound isolators, but it also includes shock extensions, bump stop extension and Track Bar Relocation Bracket. Is it recommended replacing the shocks or will i be ok using the shock extensions? she asked me about the airlift 1000 leveling kit 2008 Ford F-350 Air Lift Air Bag Suspension Kit - Videos & 415+ Reviews on Air Lift Air Bags for Towing - Air Lift 1000 & 5000 Install
but I cant find any on the airlift website for my vehicle.....can anyone tell me about those.....

I would be using new shocks...and a heavy duty one instead of stock.

I had skyjackers on mine. (2006 F250). 2.5 front leveling and a 1" rear add a leaf.

The kit we offer for the front of your truck is 80537:
http://www.airliftcompany.com/manuals/MN-613_80537.pdf

I can't say for sure how much lift this would actually provide though. They may lift the front a slight amount however that is not there intended design use. The Air Lift 1000 series for the front of your truck is typically used to help with someone with extra weight, such as a plow.

I hope that answers the questions you may have, if not please let me know. I would be happy to help.

I have used the spring spacer (2 inch) from day one with my truck. When I bought it there was nothing more than the spacer that came with the kit. Since then I have read about how the track bar locator is a good idea, and extended shocks are recommended, etc but honestly never a days problem with what I have. I dont use the truck for off roading, so I have NEVER reached the shock extension or had any steering concerns. When the time comes for shocks I will choose extended ones but I see no reason to replace them "just because" right now.
Is my kit the best on the market? NO, but no problems with it and lots of complements.

The rear height is partly determined if you have a 250 or 350. 250 owners will usually lift the rear to balance it whereas 350 owners are ok.

I have a 350, and i have no need or want to raise the rear. I just want to bring the front up to match the rear. I feel adding the track bar would be better when towing...i wouldn't mind a air bag kit for the rear while towing the 5er...changing the shocks while everything is apart would not be a bad thing....something better than stock.

Pretty much everything he said.

I threw a set of $60 spacers on mine and they work just fine.
