Leaving mine in the windshield.
Heat is a greater concern of mine and it survived the summer.
I had a GPS burst open several years ago during the summer but I still leave the replacement in my windshield, too.
Thanks fellas. i didn't know how much hot or cold it can take. I like you Kper05 was concerned with heat.it gets so hot here in summer. And i know im going to be in some extreme cold this winter. Again Thanks Paul
Not saying something won't happen and it's a risk but it's more of a pain to keep removing two devices from my windshield so I keep them there.
My replacement GPS has been in my windshields since summer 2008 when the other one self destructed.

Mine made it thru a Utah summer which usually see daytime temps in excess of 100°. I don't know how hot the interior of the truck gets. But it sat outside with windows up and locked. We are not Phoenix and don't have any 115-120° temps. So can't speak for that hot.
As far as cold, My truck has sat in ski resort parking lots at 0° and the CTS has not frozen. It was -35° Monday up in West Yellowstone, but I never turned my truck off and let is stand. So I know nothing inside the truck got that cold.
I did have the suction cup dry out and release from the windshield. Had tore-moisten it and it has held just fine since.
Pitt. Edge CTS is a monitor that Edge sells that connects to your obdii port and will display around 40 PIDs that the trucks computer tracks. Items such as RPMs, Coolant Temp, Voltage, EGTs, REgen, Avg miles between Regen etc
Edge builds a CS ( Color Screen) and the CTS ( Color Touch Screen). Neither device does any programing, They simply display information that the trucks computer is tracking.
If you are an information nut and want to see more info than what your dash displays, This is a great device. Installs in 2 minutes.
I did just read from Edge. that the CTS if it is to cold or to hot in truck, it will not come on until the temps come into a certain range. to protect itself. good stuff.
