My truck had the crappy universals when I bought it. I found the old good ones behind the seat and pulled the old, dry rubber off. Then I slid the rubber off the universals and onto the old style. The universal blades just smeared the water, probably because theres no spring in the blade. After switching them out, the old style work a heck of alot better and looks better too.

I bought re-fill rubber for the OE blades a few weeks ago from Autozone. They work fine. 1978 F250.

PS: I looked and LMC Truck offers the OE style metal blades

Could the wiper arms and blade off of a say 1990 ford truck work? I thought of just trying a later model wiper arm

I asked for wiper refills at Napa for a 1976 F-100 and they said they are no longer made, handed me some kind and said I could take the rubber off and make it work. After struggling with it for a bit and then tossing it in the garbage, I went to O'reillys and asked if they had any, the counterman looked in the parts book and came out from the back with the right set, works perfectly. I used to think Napa was the best but I have been amazed at what O'reillys stocks for my truck and if they dont stock it, they get it in the next day.

Part numbers of what was available in stores. RockAuto doesn't even show anything current aftermarket.

Yes, I know that's what you were referring to. I typed the Ford part number so I could then list ALL the applications for it.

These blades fit far more than F Series trucks. Some parts stores may not have an application any longer for the F Series, but may have one for a 1965/66 Mustang or one a the other Passenger Cars I listed.

31-15.. That looks like the entire rubber wiper and metal frame. You removed the rubber blade from the metal frame and it fit into the OEM wiper blade holder?

A refill, as in just the rubber?

Which snaps into the OEM metal frame shown below (not a truck, same idea)
