universal wiper blades are crap, who??

Rubber refills with a metal "spine" that slid right into place on the stainless wiper arm which, if it matters, is made by Trico. Napa gave me something similar to what your picture shows, individual metal runners and a rubber insert, was a pita and I fought with it for awhile before I tossed the mess and went to O'Reillys.

I am not looking to change the OEM blade holder, as they are curved for the windshield... I've done the ANCO replacement blades, and IMO they miss 1/3 of the windshield.

That is exactly what I am looking for. Anco does not make these for our trucks anymore (or anything).

These are the crappy ANCO things I had.
Probably 31-15s as shown. They were flat. If you've seen the OEM style blade holder, the passenger side end of both blades has a curve bent into them so they better match the glass.
Using these, the glass gets swept clean. I actually just recently cleaned out the local parts store of their old school style rubber-only refills.

These are mine, the blade holder is Trico, I have no idea if that is OEM but its what came on the truck when I bought it:
They fit the windshield good, the blade holder matches the curve. Not sure if you mean the wiper itself misses 1/3 of the total area of the windshield; as in the blade holders are too short or if you mean the leading edge of the refill doesnt lay flat and only 2/3 of it are making contact with the glass.
Edit: the trico blade holders pictured are jointed and have a spring in them that allows them to fit the contour of the windshield.

So in short... what did you buy that fit into that trico blade holder? (They look like what I have)

That's the same Trico arms i have on my '78 F150. I need replacement rubber inserts but can not find them locally yet. I tried Oreillys and Advance Auto but their replacements are the skinny rubber with two metal full length inserts; they do not fit these Trico blade holders. The blade rubber i have now has the plastic full length top with the metal clip on the end that holds it securely to the one end of the Trico stainless arm. Can anyone point me in the right direction online or locally to find some replacement rubber inserts that fit?

i took the arms from a 96 f250, drilled out the rivet, cut down the steel 3 or 4 inches and drilled a new spring hole and a new rivet hole and used a small bolt instead of a rivet
so now i have the shepherds hook style arms and use anco contour beam type blades and it works really good
im trying to get a pic uploaded

Bama, i did yesterday, and clicked the link you provided, but as per your last post here:
ANCO 31-15
edit: I called O'Reillys, another counterman says ANCO #19-18, which is an 18' refill that goes in a metal blade, mine in the pic are 15' so now I am as confused as you.
....I am still confused too. the anco 31-15 online shows it's a wiper arm and blade combo. My trico arms are in great working order. All i need are the rubber inserts that have the plastic runners not the skinny double metal runners. Am i missing something obvious in this thread?

I ended up with Trico universal fit 15"... Crap, $14 worth of poop. Well, even the right shaped turd might work better in its place.
I got a single replacement for the drivers side one day... I'll look to make sure but I think its a 16" Bosch micro edge... Wait for me to check and make sure its right .. works great. Or it did for the short time on the road. I used rain-x because I have no washer tank. So could be because of that they work so good.
