I knew an old guy, he's been gone for several years now, but he had on in a 64 F250 with a 5 spd main and a 4spd aux. He claimed it would get over 25 running 75 mph. I know it would run 75, but can't verify the mileage.
I have one in an old single axle gimmy, it is around a 56 or 7 model, and not only pushes it down the road (slowly) but also runs the rotary, rig and air compressor.
I also have a light duty 5X4 setup I have been saving, thinking about building a 5th wheel puller one of these days, Probably never get around to it though.

2 valve 4-53?? That's an old little beast. I see a couple of those 2 valve models all the time. My Grandfather has a couple old Olivers that have the 2 valve 4-53 in them. They run like a champ but like every other Detroit they like to leak all over the place lol. Good luck with the project. There's a teacher here at my school that dropped a 6v53 down in a 50's style Chevy pickup. It's pretty sweet.

"Here" is my Grandfather's farm right outside Wooster, OH. He has around 40 Olivers. He restores them. As far as "my school" I go to the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima, OH. My Grandfather doesn't have a 1955 with a 4-53 in it but he does have a 1950 with a 4-53 in it.

Haha well that's interesting. Small world indeed. I'm just north of Lima. Little town called Cairo right along 30. This is only my 4th session. Only been here since the end of June.

Haha well if you ever see a tan 2nd Gen Dodge running around with a soot stained back window but no stack that's me haha. The IDI won't be on the road till after Christmas and I got to find me a place where I can finish putting the flatbed on.

The 4btswap website has a lot of info for using the 453 engines in pickups. There is quite a few over there running them.
