I have the same setup as Darren32 and love it. I'm convinced there is not a better suspension out there period. The Carli and King shock setup is worth it's weight in Gold.
Slipry14, that is one mean looking rig. Very nice.
Actually, I didn't which is why I asked. Did you possibly "white out" the picture below the truck to emphasize the stabilizers?
I only asked because I know the stabilizer products are very specific to the application.
Thanks for the feedback.
Yes the picture background has been removed (somewhat) but it was for some other purpose. I just ended up borrowing that picture for my answer as it did show the stabilizer more or less.
My truck has Kelderman full Air suspension (no iron left) controlled by AccuAir powered by an High Performance OASIS compressor. Rounding off the suspension are specially tuned 2.5" King reservoir shocks - there too, a combination that works exceptionally well in context of all of the other modifications such as 20" military grade bead lock rims equipped with 42" (335/80R20) MPT81 tires - 2" additional lift with wet weight of about 18,000 lbs.
I just added the Rough Country Dual kit from TopGun Customz that comes with Bilstein cylinders. I have a stock height 350 and in the first 50 miles, no issues. I'm out of town for the next few days, but maybe by the end of the week I can get some photos up.
I'm looking for some feedback on stabilizer options for 2011 F250 (stock w/ snow plow prep pkg) running 275/70/18 BFG ATs. I read many threads related to bump steer/death wobble that say are "cured/lessened" by the installation of the dual stabilizer.
So that said, I was looking into the Rancho dual system and they say their product cannot be used on stock height vehicles due to interference between the track bar and center bracket of the stabilizer if the suspension bottoms out. Wanted to know if anyone has some practical experience with that.
Also found some posts on the "carli/bilstein" set up. It seems to be liked by those that have installed it, but wanted to know if it is significantly better than rancho stock replacement (PS - I've already replaced the stock unit w/ Rancho).
Thanks!
I had the Dual Rancho kit and there definately is a problem. I'm stock with OEM 18" tires.
It's when you put weight on it like a plow or camper. Or hit a good bump when empty. The engine braceing comes down and pushes the Rancho bracket next to the differental down. It didn't bend it but it made driving hazordous. Steering got real tight. After haveing this happen 4 times I took it off and sold it.
I have the Rancho dual stabilizer kit and also feel it is defective. This weekend hit a deephard section coming out of a drive way and the axle bracket got pushed down and was grinding on the rod below making it hard to steer. Had to drive back from louisville to lexington. not a pleasant trip!! I have removed it and feel like returning it to rancho. Any one else have this issue? I will probably replace the single factory shock with the one Darrin has. Thanks, Dm
Do you have the snow plow prep kit or any sort of levelling kit or lift on your truck? People have installed the Rancho kit successfully without problems if they have one of those two. If you don't then you will have interference issues from what I understand when hitting large bumps just like you did.
If they won't take that Rancho kit back, and you feel like parting with it, send me a PM. I'm about ready to try something....
I am stock with 20's and find it od that it has a problem. I removed it this weekend and would be willing to sell it or trade it for a single replacement shock. it is probably 3 months old. David
