Starter Drive

Just picked up a new starter drive for my 60 F100 and notice that it will not work it seems to be longer than the one I took off.Is ther a replacement starter drive for the shorter shaft starter that I have? or am I just not seeing it correctly? Thanks Mark

OK I bought a BWD starter drive it calls for a SD553P well when looking around I found a SD595P that looks just like the one I took off...I feel thier is 2 different sizes one for the longer shaft starter and one for a short shaft starter...Keep you posted when iot come in Mark

ICM-11350-C .. Bendix 'inertia' Starter Drive.

1954/60 applications: F100/800 223 (M/T) / F100/250 292 (M/T & A/T) / F350/800 292 (M/T).

1961/64 is not the same, because Ford changed the starters in 1961.

B6C-11350-A .. Bendix 'inertia' Starter Drive.

Applications: 1954/64 F100/250 223 (A/T).

These Bendix drives are about 5" long when wound, are retained on the shaft of the armature by a roll pin.

The roll pin is hidden by the large coil spring. So, the spring has to be unwound to R&R the drive.
