Exclamation F250 6.0 Diesel Going Dead!

My husband's truck will go dead while we are driving down the road. Does not do it all the time, then sometimes will do it alot. The last time it went dead and would not crank. We have replaced the fuel filters. Any ideas?

Someone told us to replace the fuel pressure regulator...Really need some advise.

You will want to post this thread in the 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel forum for better responses. Good luck with the issue.

don't know what they sell at Auto Zone but you need Ford or racor filter all around plus you need some gauges like Edge Insight CTS or ScanGaugeII to check ECT-EOT max 15*

If it won't crank after a random stall you should look at the wire harnesses. Or did you mean it cranked but wouldn't start?

"cranking" is the engine spinning from the starter motor.

"firing" is when it tries to start and you get some combustion.

Which won't it do?

"turning over" is the engine rotating, same as "cranking". So it sounds like it is turning over or cranking, since you say it sounds like it's going to start, but it won't "fire".
