F-5 Yard Art Truck Update--Pics Included

Hey Garry! I FINALLY got a chance to go get that bed yesterday. Thanks for telling me about it. It's got the same degree of "patina" as my F-5, but overall it wasn't too bad. It was still bolted to some ancient white oak boards. I just took my tractor and lifted the whole thing onto the frame rails and slapped a couple of 1 inch ratchet straps on it. Then threw 3 sheets of plywood on top and decorated it up some. Merry Christmas everyone! I tried to make it look like it carried home a fresh-cut big tree.

That does look good, like the old truck has been working. The little black truck looks good too.

Thanks. Yeah. That one shot really shows the size difference.

I've thought about it. The nearest power source is about a hundred yards away. I'm not sure what parts to put the lights on. Obviously the wreath....but not sure what else. I'd like to "decorate" it with another flathead someday if I knew the rest of the truck would hold together. The rear axles are missing as well.

Hey Doc, that thing looks really good, glad the bed worked out for you. You don't just fine one of those every day, that is one of the great things about being on here is that even if your not interested in the stuff you see there is usually someone you know that is interested and the parts keeps one of these old trucks alive even if it is just to sit along the road and look pretty for everyone elsa to see.MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.

Awesome looking truck... While the smaller trucks are cool, there is a soft spot in my heart for the big ones

This truck behaves much better than that steer. I DO NOT miss that stupid animal. LOL.
