Well my gpr finaly went out so i ordered the stancor relay. I would of just put another junk gpr109 if i never found this site thanks guys. So my relay works great and the darth vadar mask still fits on there. I was just wondering if the stancor relay could work as a starter relay on the passanger fender. Or if it is even nessasary. Thoughts?

 

The GPR is case isolated and the starter relay isn't. I suppose you could use it as a starter relay if you grounded one of the small posts. Starter relays don't fail very often.

 

^^^^ +1; run a short wire from the second small post to the the base to ground it, and Bob's your uncle. But it's overkill. The strength of the Stancor is its ability to hold the contacts in the closed position for long durations; that's how/when cheapo GP relays fail, powering the GPs for up to two minutes. But you're generally not running the starter relay for more than, Idunno, 8-10 seconds at a time.

 

Ya i didnt know if there would be any benifit to that or not. You guy are right the starter relay wont wear out as fast. Thanks for your input.
