The other day my truck died while i was driving it. I was going about 40 just crusing and then i got no throttle response and it just died down real slow. AAA towed me home and its just sat until today. I took the fuel filter out thinking i ran out of fuel and my gauge was off but there is still about an inch of fuel in the bottom of the bowl. Any ideas please help me. I cant afford to dealership this truck...
CPS is my guess. Ford dealer sells them for about 30 bucks. You can get them off the internet for a little less but it all depends on how fast you need it fixed. Takes about 10 minutes to change it out.
It is possible. My first CPS, when the truck was new, lasted about 5 months before it went out. The #30 fuse, as mentioned by BillyBob69, would be the next place to check. If the #30 fuse is not blown, change out the CPS and see what it does.
Wow i just put in my old CPS and it fired right up! Why did my international part number 1876736C91 die so soon? I paid more for it then my cheapy Advance one and its lasted way longer?

Did you try to start the truck back up when it died? Mine 'died' like that when I went through some water.... after I stopped the truck I was able to start it right back up.
You may have had a loose connection or some moisture might have gotten past the o-ring and momentaryaly killed the truck.
I would not toss the international part as it may still be good.

Glad it was an easy fix. Install a new Ford OEM CPS and keep that Advance Auto CPS as a spare.
With only an inch of fuel in the bowl and the way it "died down real slow" I was sure it was a fuel problem.
I hope it's not an intermittent short in the fuel bowl heater, but that should have blown the fuse.
