Can anyone ID this rear end housing?

Is it possible for anyone to ID this rear end by just looking at these pics? I dont know what its off of, It looks stout enough , but I dont know if its worth rebuilding. The axels have 5 on 5 " lugs ( ch--y?)

With it being 5 on 5 I would think it is a Dana 44 before a Dana 60 the look alike but the 60 is a HD rear end in 3/4 ton trucks and vans...where the 44 was used in cars, but you could be right. Can you find a casing date and ID stamps? Casting date is found look from the rear at the top left flange of the axle and the ID is found on the left lower...

Google GM 10 bolt rear end, if it has a 5 on 5 in bolt patern it's probably a Dana 44 used in Chevy pick-ups. If it's a 5 on 4 3/4 it's a Dana 27 used in cars. Sorry the Dana 27 was used also in chevy pickups with 6cly engines, thus giving it the 5 on 5 in bolt pattern.

Good morning all, I just re checked the #S TOP LEFT REAR=US PAT 1068818 BOTTOM LEFT REAR = US PAT 2018188 top right rear= C31800 bottom right rear = 53 2( the 53 is cast and the 2 is stamped.) Hope this helps.

Jimmy,
Based on the pictures I would say it is a small DANA 25,27 or 30. All use the same rear gasket. You can not base it on just the bolt pattern as just about every manufacturer has used DANA's in a variety of vehicles of different bolt patterns and it is easy to redrill or get new axles.

Here is a chart to better help you. Differential identification charts

Good luck

Thanks Dave, I had not seen that link, Would a rear end like that stand up to a hole shot now and then from a 302, if it was in good shape, and if not could it accept better internals and axels? Sorry for the lambe questions but I know zip about rear ends.
