I went to Discount to get 16.5 tires for my 79 F350 and they tried to upgrade me to 16's. They fit, but they couldn't get LH tuner nuts for the LR. I stuck with stock iron and dog dish hubcaps

I was able to find nice left hand lugs but they are $$$! I thought it would be easier to replace them with right hand threaded studs and never have to worry about them again. That way tire shops wouldn't have such a problem getting the wheel off.

Nice truck eh!!!
The F350's had the dana 70 rear end which came with left hand studs on the LR axle. Took me awhile to figure that out when I was trying to remove the wheel for the first time!
BTW, thanks for the complement! You have one heck of a nice looking Ford yourself! I would kill to have all the chrome trim and be able to two-tone paint like you did. I've tried but it is impossible to find all the pieces for a crew cab!

LOL! You can have them! They look nicer in the picture than up close. If they weren't all dented up I'd think of keeping with the stock look but they are good from far... far from good!
I was going to swap out the LH studs, but the local Autozone and O'Reilly could only muster five between them!

Left hand threads were common on a lot of big trucks on the drivers rear axle, some engineer had a better idea!! I've never seen them on a pickup.
I have a 77 F250 camper special with 16.5 wheels. Firestone still makes tires for those rims, I have them. I didn't change sizes cause my full size wheel cover don't fit 16in rims. I have the 2 piece cover, trim ring for the outer edge, with an inner wheel cover

The most common theory states that if the LR lug nuts aren't torqued down, that centrifugal force will keep them on.
I don't know about that, but the guys at Discount Tire had to use the impact all the way off and on because they couldn't be turned by finger strength alone!

I seem to remember a lot of vehicles had left hand threads on both left side wheels didn't they? 60's and earlier.. I'm pretty sure chrysler did, I think my 68 GTX had them
