so i have been looking at the e303 cam and it seems to be a popular choice among 5.0 mustang and f150 owners. my question is can you just drop one of these into a stock 5.0 on speed density? without changing anything. like lifters and such
need more info, and if your trucks a 4x4 dont bother. theres a ton of other options out there, and the letter cams are not ideal for a 4x4 truck. paul will chime in on this one for sure. he actually helped me choose my cam for my 96 f150 5.8 4x4
ok lets start here, 1st your 89 figuring it has the orginal engine is not a factory roller cam. 2nd your speed density. you have a non ecm controlled trans which is good and i see a fox mustang pcm in your future! i think the best way to go about this is to see what casting number your block is and determine what cam to start with . the best way to go at this is with a mass air conversion with a mustang pcm and a decent roller cam. again conaski will see this and chime in . one question needing to be asked is what are you trying to do with the truck?
this truck is basically going to strictly be a street truck, it never pulls anything and rarely hauls anything. i really dont wanna go through the hassle of converting to mass air.. are there any good cams available for a stock 5.0 on SD?

I have no idea why you would do that.
How do you plan on addressing the fuel system to step down to carb pressure? What transmission do you have? If it’s an E4OD then you will need the OEM or an aftermarket computer to run the transmission.
