Tyler I would put in a motocraft oil filter to be on the safe side and you dont want unfiltered oil getting threw it
I think that the mmotocraft and Fram are the same size I could be wrong though
I compared a Motocraft with another brand back a few I think it was a fram and they were the same size. I swear it was a fram but I cant remember exactly. Next time I go there Im going to check for shure because this comes up alot.
Maybe you do have to short of filter and unfiltered oil is getting by it and getting junk on the IPR screen IDK just a thought
but would think if the filter is to short you would have ICP pressure problems to because the Oil filter drain would be open a touch.
If it were me Id drive it with the new IPR for a few and then Pull the IPR back out in a few weeks and see if you can find out whats trashing these IPRs

Ouch, I could of sworn it was okay to use a fram filter.
Now here's my question...what could be in my oil that's smashing that screen out? Regardless of the filter I wouldn't think there would or should be anything in my oil/oil system that's causing that to blow.
OH, I also forgot to mention on top of the 200$ I spent on my new ipr, 50$ tow(thank god for AAA) due to my frustration and anger I decided to give my windshield a good punch(AAA decided they didn't want to answer) so now I have to get that replaced the best part I don't have full coverage nor do I have glass coverage.
What an eventful weekend.

Its also common knowledge Fram doesn't use a replacement filter cap. If your seeing a filter that replaces the oil filter cap it is not a Fram filter.
We have already had this discussion several times on the site and the research has clearly stated "as of approx. 2005, Fram has Racor(same brand as Ford uses) supply them with the exact same filters as the Motorcraft units. Both Motorcraft and Fram share the exact same U.S. patents and are clearly displayed on the end of every filter cartridge.
If your buying a new Fram from the store for your oil filters all you have to do is check the end of the filter cartridge and you will see the U.S. patents on there that Racor owns.

I try to be a nice guy and it breaks down. Oh well stuff happens.
After it was all said and done, I hate myself for doing it, and I just ask myself why?

The Fram filter I used just pops right into the cap, I pull the old one out and pop the new one in...so what your saying is its "okay" to use that filter?? The part number is like ch9549 or something like that.

I think I was just more pissed off that I was trying to help a friend out, it was his trailer and we were headed to pick up a car for him.

Read the link I posted. Fram is made by the same company that makes the Ford unit. CH9549 yep. Oil filter is not your problem, but is easy for some to think it might be.
If you haven't changed your high pressure oil screen, that just might be the problem.
Might look like this one, removed from my old engine.

Ah, great thanks. I KNEW I wasn't going crazy!
Everyone was quick to assume it was my oil filter.
I did change that screen, and it came out looking just like yours.
So I'm really concerned something is floating around in my oil.
Do you recommend any good flush?
I was recommended to marvel mystery oil.

I was just at Walley World and compared the 2 oil filters in question
FRAM CH9549 and the Motocraft FL-2016 and there the EXACT SAME in Height
So Fram Is good to go Just like I thought
and the only way the Oil Filter could be your issue is if there coming apart and clogging the IPR Screen and thats probably not likely
There must be something eles in there floating around clogging up the IPR
It Just really weird that it keeps clogging up Even though you did some work almost a year ago its been a couple of oil changes and I for one would think it would be outa there by now IDK
