I've had a small leak around my thermostat for a long time. A few months back I replaced the thermostat and put a billet thermo housing on. Well, I still get a leak. It's not consistent... I'll leak nothing for three weeks, then all the sudden I will have a significant drip from the area. It's more pronounced when it's hot outside.
Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with an after market t-stat o-ring. Got a OEM o-ring and no leak. The OEM o-ring was just a bit taller when lying flat.
By the way, that is a useless thread title. Who's going to search Que? for a leaking t-stat?

Try Permatex. Sometimes even the billet housing doesn't seal well. Also watch when it's hot to verify it's leaking at the housing and not from the hose. I've seen a 6.0 that would develop a small drip when hot from the hose on the t-stat housing. No visible issues with the hose, but a new hose fixed the problem.

I'll give that a shot. It may be a 'watched pot never boils' issue, in which case I'll just put 24/7 surveillance on the housing and keep it from leaking that way...
