Bought a new (used) bed. took some pictures

Check it out....

Now its time to paint. What do you guys think of Maaco, they quoted me $450 to paint the bed. (just grey) Sounds reaonably cheap.

Looks good. If they haven't already been done, did you do the fuel tank modifications while you had the bed off? I think I'd have to find a local body shop, who could probably use the money, if possible instead of Maaco.

shoot, I did not do the fuel tank mod. Thanks for the tip on trying to find a local body shop.

No biggie you can still do the tank mods, just alot easier if you have the bed off anyway.

Amen to THAT!

The guys at the last GTG at Man-town in Morgan Hill, CA helped me R&R the bed and shell.

Far, FAR easier!

Of course, mine is a Texas / California truck, so there are no corroded bolts with which to contend.

450 to paint the bed?

Two years ago I had them paint my 77 Camaro and I paid less than that.

I also would be looking for a local body shop that might be able to contest that price...
