HPX pros and cons

Is there any pros and cons between the hard line Hpx and soft line for those of you that have one or the other? Trying to make a decision on which. Roy

I believe if I was gonna put one on I'd get the hard line

I was told it's just another potential oil leak

The steel line would last longer! That would be about it. Unless your diy the steel one would be a lil bit harder to get the bends just right. But if your buying one the steel one clay sells fits great! I think the only disadvantage to the crossover itself is you have to remove it pull the turbo.

I've had both. The soft line started weeping at the crimp after a few years. So, I now have the KCM SS hard line HPX and I don't have to remove it to do a turbo R&R. It dips down in the middle and still gives just enough clearance to get the turbo past it.

dont forget about PMS, i installed the hardline from clay and it fit great, this was also a good reason and time to install the plenum inserts, new boots and clamps.

KCM Diesel Performance, they just have a version of the hard line HPx.

KCM HPx Install Instructions

Clay at Riffraff has a version of the HPx that is hard to beat!

Riffraff HPx

I recommend the hard line version over a flex line. Just as simple to install and leaves no chance of it moving around with vibration. Also takes less space up, in an already tight area.

I will go with the hard line but my concern was being able to remove the turbo or anything else in there without removing the HPX. i thought with a soft line i could bend it if needed to get any clearance that i might need. Roy

If you have any issues, it takes all of a few minutes to remove the HPx to get it out of the way.
