Ok 47's I need some opinions on front bumpers

I constantly hear how ugly the front end of our 47's are, but I think thats what makes our trucks stand out the most.

I have seen plenty of trucks go without the front bumper and on the rear go with a rolled pan.

Two questions here...

1. What you go you guys think of the clean front end **without a bumper**

2. Where can we get rolled pans for the rear?

Yeah, It does look cleaner, but there's a lot of "teeth in that grill", and even though we're careful, some other idiot may not be. I'd prefer Not having to go to the oral surgeon!

Besides, you don't have to make them stand out!

Real trucks have bumpers - but that's just my opinion.

I'd go with a bumper. Like John says, it doesn't have to stand out.

On mine I have bumper of unknown make, that is thinner than the stock bumper blade. I like the bumper on these trucks. One way to have it not stand out so much is paint it body color or black, it will blend in more. With a little fabrication work you could always pull the bumper in a bit closer to the body to eliminate the gap between the body and the bumper, makes it look a bit cleaner.

I agree mine pushes out to far and has a big gap. The white truck above seems to sit quite close to the grill. I might just modify the placment of the front bumper and keep it.

I added stainless nerf bars to the front after I filled in my grill area. I plan to have a champ car push-off bar that fits over the nerf bars at a later date. On the rear I added a rolled panel (similar to an S-10) to cover up the Class III hitch, to which I may add a plug-in bumper at a later date.

I used the front bumper off a 40 Ford on mine. Not as wide as the original.

When we was building dads 46, that was the one thing I asked him. I think the trucks looks good either way but I do like the look of not running a front bumper. But like said before if someone backs in to the front of it, its going to be expensive. Thats the main reason dad put a front bumper on his truck. I have no clue what the front bumper is off of but it is a early front bumper. We set the bumper back some so it dont stick way out in front of the truck. There are a few pics of the truck in my album if you want to take a look at it.

Myself I am kind of partial to having the Front Bumper, yet I do like the looks of these Trucks without them.
I guess to each is own opinion. Here is a pic of my 47 on a back road with an old railway bridge in back ground.

Since you're asking for opinions...I wouldn't leave my driveway without one!
