Bull bars and light bars.

I want to mount a 3" x 3" x 30" LED light bar on my front brush guard. There would be about a 3" clearance in front of the factory grill where it basically lines up with one of the grill's cross sections.

Obviously there will be some interference with air flow. The question is, is it enough to matter?

Research tells me no, caution leads me to ask.

Opinions?

No, not enough to be a concern.

Thanks for the reassurance.
I always keep an eye on it anyway.
I'm probably a bit overcautious, but I figure a second opinion is always good.
Much appreciated.

No worries, I am the same way. That is why it takes me 10 times as long as others to complete a project on the truck.

Although, one thing you must adhere to is that pictures of the completed installation are a must.

No but again if it were me I would have done testing similar to wind tunnel testing with a fan and fog set up to see how it would effect air flow but meh I guess I'm more cautious then most but something that small shouldn't have any bearing on the air flow

Our backup ambulances and mini pumpers here have custom grills that block airflow for their siren and light packages (pre LED so pretty big) and don't have too many issues so I would say not too big of an issue.

Pretty simple install. The toughest part was finding a path through the firewall for the switch legs.
The switch is just hanging under the dash for now. I need to get a small switch bank.
I have a set of square KC LED fogs coming. They'll bolt right on and use existing wiring.
The LED's look a little strange to me, but they put out a lot of light without pulling much amperage.

Hope all had a good Thanksgiving...

First thought on the last pic:

Turkey 1: Well George I think I may have found the problem with the truck

Turkey 2: what, the lack of mods and fun things?

Turkey 3: (thinking to self) "well this puts a new meaning to engine mounting..."

I've seen a few working on a truck before, just not the kind you can eat.

You raise those birds? White turkeys don't last long in the wild around my parts.
