5.0 owners, what's your mileage

Lots of attention on the ecoboost, just curious how the 5.0's are doing for mileage.

If you contribute, it might help to know your configuration e.g. 4x4 Screw, 3.55's, ect.

thanks!

My truck.

2011 F-150
Supercab
FX4
5.0L V8
3.73 Rear end.

I generally avarage between 16 and 18mpg in mixed city highway driving. I can get around 22.5 on the highway at 70mph.

2011, XLT, SuperCab, 2wd, 5L, 3.55 rear-end.

I use my truck 95% of the time for my business/ work so it's always got 600+ lbs of tools & supplies in the box.

That said I saw 16-18 the week I drove around empty, and even 19-20 on the highway. Since I work mostly close to home and around town in a hilly area, I'm mostly seeing 11.8-12.

2011 XLT 4x4 Supercab
6.5' Bed, 3.73LS, 5.0

got right around 6000 miles on the odometer so far, mostly urban/suburban driving (short distance, stop and go traffic). overall average is holding pretty steady at 15.8. On the longer trips it has taken (300-ish mile round trip) I'll see mileage reaching into the low 20's (21-22). Way better than the 5.4 in my old '06 Supercab ever got.

very encouraging to see 20's are possible on the highway .... even from the 3.73's.

Might just have to pull the trigger ....

That sounds similar to what I read from EB owners. Wow, impressive!

Thanks!

I drive pretty conservatively to save gas and reduce wear and tear. I plan for this truck to last many many years into the future.

nice numbers guys

makes me hopeful the EB and the 5.0 will be transplanted into the Expy sometime in the future. I've accepted my current 12-14 average MPG with 100% city driving (A/C on).

but better MPG is always nicer though. Expecially with an extra 100HP

same here... I don't stomp on the go pedal too often and it makes one heck of an improvement in mileage as a result. but... occasionally I do like to hear that v-8 growl and feel the kick so I'll give it the boot and launch from a stoplight. Fun stuff.
