ya i changed the oil filter and fuel filters not 600 miles ago with oem filters and put purple royal 15w40 synthetic in. i am printing off the ficm procedure now because i am driving home tom and driving through cisco which is where my truck is. im gonna have a few words with em about the ficm, icp and ipr readings and my batteries. what else should i ask em?
I just left the mechanics shop the ficm was buzz tested and said it was good, the icp was 350 then the blocked both ends off and it would jump to 700 but go back to 350 psi. And the ipr was 85. Then they plugged an air hose into a pipe on the motor and I could hear air bubbles inside. They talked about o rings and possibly pullin the tranny to get to a part. I just don't get all this.
Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like they get it all that well, either. Pulling the tranny to check some phantom part sounds like a good way to empty your wallet to me.
They would pull the tranny if a part of the y pipe was busted from the hpop or at least that's what they have told me. I heard that shooting air through there isn't a sure fire way to check to see if there is a leak. Is there any truth behind that?
A leak in the HPO system would not require the tranny to be pulled.
agreed here ^^^^^^^^^^^^
Was the IPR hooked to 12 volts and closed at the time of the air test
they needed to do a couple of things to have a valid air test
It might just be best to get the truck outa there ASAP I know that you want the truck fixed but these CLOWNS Just want to empty your wallet they are full of so much SH** that they probably dont have very much repeat Business
Just to agree with these guys, if you're SURE you are quoting them correctly, don't let them work on your truck! Very little of what you have posted is correct.
Well they already left for the week and I have decided that they have till the end of Monday and then if they don't have any answers I'll just have them out everything back together and my old injectors put in and tow it to a reliable place. They don't have an answer at all after 2 weeks of having it. And they said the ipr was closed but who knows what's the truth. I'm not gonna sit here and say I know much at all but I know the things y'all say ain't matchin up with his stuff. If he don't know I would take that just tell me and we can work the money out but this is getting ridiculous
Spend a little time the next few days reading up on how the HPO system works and how to test it. Then you will be ready on Monday and will be able to know for sure exactly what you need to do. I have a feeling I know what conclusion you will come to.
