buyer beware

I just wanted to put this out there, if you are ordering HID's from DDM tuning make sure to check your bulbs when you get them in. Both myself and Spool&Go have ordered 55w hid kits from them in the last few months and both kits were shipped with one defective bulb. I have contacted them wanting a replacement, and they wanted to charge me in order to ship me a replacement. Decided to return the entire kit and order one from retro-solutions.

Not trying to start a bash thread of DDM, simply want to make sure that people understand what they are going through if they order from them. Spool&Go was able to get a replacement shipped to him after they held a $40 charge but that charge was refunded when they got his defective bulb. When I called today they told me policy has changed and that if I wanted them to ship one today, without having to wait for mine to get to them, them to process it, and then to ship one out, I would have to pay for a new bulb plus $20.

Are you sure the bulb was bad? Because I have a kit from them in past three months and both are good. One side like to not come on sometimes but I just turn them on and off and bingo I'm good to go. My friend had same problem with his too.

yes the blub deffinitely is bad, tried to light then flickered out, inside is all clouded up and black, and there was RTV sealant the bulb itself. Not saying they are a horrible company, but just to beware. They also just changed their policy so that if you have a bad bulb, and you want a replacement, you have to send your entire kit in, they will check it, then get a replacement bulb, then ship it back to you. In other words, after waiting the original 3 or 4 weeks for them to ship it from China, you have to wait at least that long again to get a replacement. Not worth the cheapness of price for me

oh yea, love the light output. I was pretty pissed when he told me that, because literally a month ago i would have been able to let them hold a 40 dollar charge against my card and have a replacement here within 7-10 days. Talked with Todd at retro-solutions, it may be a little more expensive, but to me it is completely worth it for the customer service. Quick reply and ready to help out.

Todd at Retro Solutions has GREAT customer service.

It's too bad Retro Solutions isn't a Supporting Vendor here. They are at a couple other diesel sites.
