best tires/place to buy them?

Truck: 96 F150 XL 302 e4od standard cab full bed.
Current tires "Lemans" 265/75 R15.
I like the stance of the truck so I do not want to change tire size.
I have been looking on the internet and the Goodyear Wrangler seems to be the most popular despite the fact that it is a little more expensive than the firestones and coopers of the same size. (one seems to be road tire and the other seems to be an off road tire, I want a little of both)
is there some reason to not purchase a set of 4 of the goodyears?
Also the best price seems to be at Townfair tire. They also offer a variety of free services ( front end alignment, rotation, roadside flat service etc) that other vendors do not offer.
They are selling them for $187 ea with an $80 rebate when you purchase 4, so $167 each. A better price than I could find anywhere else.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Firestone ATs. The best "all around" tire made.

I have the General Grabber AT2's but they only come in standard sizes so you would probably want a 31 or 32x10.50x15

Im a goodyear guy, so I would recomend pretty much any goodyear tires (duratrac, silent armours), but there is quite a few other goood choices out there. I would shy away from uniroyals, and you do get what ya pay for. Cheaper tires usually have less traction, and dont last as long, but there are some good choices!

all good advice, thanks. The generals are listed as a "all weather highway tire" I put a lot of redneck racing stripes on my truck so I want a tire that has a more aggressive off road tread without going into specialty off road tires that will be loud and low mileage on the pavement. One thing I learned about tire rack's web site is that they don't include installation in the price and if you want the road service they charge you $50 extra. Town fair gives all of that for free and their internet price is an installed price with all of the extra services included. The generals are listed for 60K while the goodyears are only listed for 50K (miles) so that is something to consider. I couldn't find a listing for Firestone AT's in my size. Thanks, if someone else has a set of tires that they think is superior please chime in.
Thanks again!
Phil

You're just looking at the regular General Grabbers. General Tires Grabber AT2 - General Tires Grabber AT2 - General Tire - Tires - by 4 Wheel Parts thats what you want right there. But the Firestone AT's are a good tire too.

I ordered some Goodyear Duratracs from Tire Rack on the 11th. Got a call that they were on backorder until the 18th or 19th. No big deal. Just got another call today, they are on backorder until Dec 3rd now. Now I'm beginning to get irritated, I ordered them early in the month so I'd have them before snow flies. So far TR has been good to deal with, hopefully they'll offer some sort of coupon or discount if they would like to keep a customer.

Goodyear Wrangler RTS are an example of a bad tire. Never met someone that liked them on a truck. Just putting that out there.

My GY Wrangler HT tires were great on the road, but punctured easily elsewhere. I think each tire had at least 2 patches in it after 60,000 miles when I replaced them.

I've heard great things about the Duratracs and the Silent Armors.

@ white Beast, you were right, I wasn't looking at the AT2. I am searching them now thanks.
@ Going boarding the Goodyears I was considering were the Silent Armors, they seemed to have the best reviews.
Thanks!

31x10.5 $144/ea.
33x12.5 $157/ea.
35x12.5 $177/ea.

which one is closest to the 265/75 without going smaller?

I just checked and the Firestone AT's are not made in the size I want. 235/75 is the largest they make for a 15"rim.

Most all off-road oriented tires for a 15" wheel are in standard sizes. Just search tire rack by tire size 31x10.50x15 or if you want to go wider you can do 31x12.50x15

Firestone Firehawk Indy 500.

That is, if you're truck never sees off road trails. I figure, it's 2wd with wide aftermarket wheels(275X60X15 tire), what's the point in getting off road tires?
