If you have ever had your motor rebuilt or replaced?'s
As most of you know my truck has low compression. What I'm wanting to know is how is your truck doing now? Did your milage go up? Power go up? Could you even tell a difference at all? How has it held up? Just general So what now kinda questions!
Compression was still good on my engine when I replaced it because it started knocking on decel, even when the injectors were shut off.
You could feel it through the floorboards on the highway.
Compression was still good, LOL.
I got a Ford reman through Clay and Ed.
David, I would add, but I think you saw how 2000 is doing. Compression I actually checked yesterday, 360-380 across all 8. Still going strong, waiting for the day to come to head down to Brian's truck shop and get my transmission.
Pretty soon I'll check it again and see if it is getting worse. I know so far this year it has started with a lil more smoke in the cold. I still cant get over my pitiful milage! 12 tops and if you even hook a trailer to it don't expect anything more than 10! That just ain't right! Not to mention it has no pulling power. Runs great and quick but with a trailer it's a slug and egt's are out of control. I don't even think the live tuning helped.
