Well i tested the voltage and it tested .948 and smoothly increased to about 4.42 at full throttle. Those numbers all seem to be close enough to the expected range. Dad and I were bored so we pulled off the top thing that says Electronic fuel Injection ( as you can tell im not terribly experienced and i dont know the technical terms lol) and as it was getting dark we couldn't tell for sure but we didn't see any terrible blockages in it. I imagine i will be able to examine this better tomorrow and will see if there is anything to be seen. Until then any other ideas as to what to try/ test next? Once again thanks for the time

One more thing. When testing voltage to the TPS with teh engine running the voltage was only about 2.3 at full throttle. With the engine off and key on it read the correct voltage. Which reading should i pay attention to?

The voltages should be the same whether the engine is running or not. I would not recommend checking them with the engine running......

Well other then some slight carbon buildup the peice we removed... the upper manifold? had no blockages. I will hopefully get it cleaned as best i can today and get it back on. Is there any general maintenance i should do with it off?

I know i've been asking lots of questions but please bear with me Is there any test i can do on injector voltge? I imagine i cant check the spray pattern without actually removing them, and i would be willing to do this if you folks thought it would help. But i figured with the manifold already off then it woud be much easier to do it now then later on down the road. Thanks again everyone for helping out.

If the engine idles smoothly you can pretty much assume the injectors are getting the correct voltage, I believe they are supplied 12v and controlled directly by driver circuits inside the computer that ground the other side of the circuit to turn them on.

I didn't see where you checked fuel pressure yet, that and cylinder compression are the two things with the most impact on engine power

The fuel pressure has been checked and is corect. I have not done anything with compression. How do you check compression? A website with instructions would be greatly appreciated and i will probable try to get that done this weekend.

The truck starts, and it idles well, but it won't drive most of the time. Occasionally it seems to run well for a little while, and i can get it up to road speed, but for the most part it cant get out of 2nd into 3rd. When it does get up to road speed it starts hiccuping at about 2000 RPM in 4th. Otherwise it lacks power all the way through, even sitting still.

I dont know if anyone will see this but if so i discovered something else that may have an impact on power. I was inspecting the fuel injecotrs more thoroughly and i discovered melted plugs. 3 of the plugs that attach the harness to the injector were melted, allowing the plug to slip around. My thought was that with poor connection it wasn't always getting good contact, but source voltage would still be good. This would explain the rise and fall of power at times. All input would be appreciated.
