Dana 50 oil capacity, 1.8L or up to the fill hole?

I know I have a D50 (610993-1) up front and the manual call for 1.8L of 75W/90. 2 Quarts get it only within a inch of so BELOW the fill hole.

I have searched on this topic and am leaning towards filling it up to the hole.

What is the correct amount/method?

Thanks

Are you sitting on level ground? That will affect it.

I'd lean in the same direction.

within 1 degree of level. I would guess it need almost another quart to be up to the hole, which would be the D60 oil capacity.
From what I understand the housing are very similar and would use about the same amount of oil anyway.
