How Add Remote Start to 2012 Expedition
Well, not really the "how" but which way is the easiest way?
My a sister asked me if I could add remote start to her 2012 Ford Expedition. Ford seems to quote $300 for parts and $300 for install. I think it looks like the 1-button remote (Ford Part #AL1Z-19G364-B) is the culprit, but not sure. It looks like all the parts connect below the steering wheel with about 6 wire taps. Easy enough, but is it really more than that? Is there a reputable aftermarket unit available?
Thanks,
Smoke

i say go with the 2 way ford OEM kit p/n: AL1Z-19G364-A it should be about 300 and has a much better range than the one way system. i installed it my self on a 2010 in maybe an hour and it works great.
just search remote start here in the forum there are several threads on them and installing them

I had a Drone Mobile system installed in my '12 E several years ago. It comes with one remote, but it's also connected wirelessly to my cell phone. I can remotely start/stop the engine and lock/unlock the doors. It will let the engine run for 15 minutes and automatically shut down. There's other options you can add, but I just went with the standard set. Best Buy had it on sale and free installation.
