lurker, now with a 1948 F1
I've used this site for tech info for a few years
but now have an FTE friendly vehicle.
Thought I check in and check out everybody elses F1's.
Bought a pair of 48's a year ago, not running and
many parts taken off but included.
I built the one that's on the tow truck.
Here it is today.
It has a 1957 Ford 223 inline 6 cylinder that hadn't run in 29 years.
Got it running good.
dash before:
After a couple cans of Krylon.
I spend most of my time at the HAMB using the same name.
You can check out my truck build here:

So, let's see your F1's.

love the build. i have hot rod black urethane on the exterior of my f1 but i've gone through plenty of cans of krylon semi flat black and rustoleum satin black on the rest of the truck. my brother in law shoots the hvlp gun, i shoot the rattle cans. even got him into the 10 minute dry mode on occastion. you are doing a real old fashioned build on your f1, thanks for posting. dick r.

I've also followed your build on HAMB. I just caught up on the trailer build on there too... You have some great ideas and implemented them well. My hat is off to you and your wife! Wish I had mine as far as you do but the summers in AZ is like working in a frying pan with the stove on HIGH.... and then ya get thrown in a 120 deg oven to bake... But I don't have to deal with snow!

Hey LowKat,
Caught your rattle can thread on the Hamb, good stuff. It's funny, I remember those trucks for sale on CL last year. Welcome to the board, I lurked here for a long time (still do) but the tech knowledge is unbelievable. Nice to have your knowledge added to the base. Might be about time for an Oregon FTE meet up. Welcome!
Jake
PS - I am looking for a working fuel gauge for a 49 f1. Anyone have one to spare (sell)?

Jeeeez, thought I'd meet some new meat...
buncha' HAMB'rs here too.
looks like a better site for an occasional O/T post
but I'll try and keep my GM stuff hidden
I think you can use many different Ford fuel gauges with mods. They have different faces, needles or backs but the gauge is the same. All were 6 volt into the 1980's. Look at an early 70's PU.
