Others have "whoops" So did I.. Head down in shame
Wife had her Focus parked over in the yard while she was doing yard work to run the radio. She had the key in the wrong position and the battery died in the 4 hours.
I grabbed my jump box in a hurry and hooked up the cables backwards. My circut breaker popped in the jump box.. I thought, "what?" took another looked and noticed my error in a hurry. Flipped the cables around reset the breaker and the car started fine. Ran fine all weekend.
Noticed last night the clock in the radio runs backwards now. Anyone incounter that? Going to try to pull battery cables for a 1/2 hour and see if it resets. Wierd and my head is down in shame, just glad everything else seems to be working fine.
Thought i would share my stupidity.

You laugh, but I have a 2004 Expedition that does this very thing. You turn the **** down and the radio volume goes up. It is intermittent, but it is very annoying! The first time it happened my wife thought I had lost my mind. She had just started talking and I went to turn the radio down....yep...it turned all the way up. Try explaining that one to the wife.

It is a 04 ZX5 2.3L Focus. Own it.. No payments or Lease. Set the clock many times. When performing repairs and pulling battery terminals. Had the car from its birth. Never a radio/clock problem.
It is wierd. Went through the manual. Don't mention anything about this. Set it for 1pm. and ran into the store to get a case of beer and when i returned it said 12:45 (ish).. It is simple.. Clock set. Hour/minutes Clock set..
Wife set it this morning 6am before leaving for work. Arrived 20 minutes later at work and it said 5:40. She fooled with it this morning and and still it continues to run backwards.
I didn't believe it myself untill i seen it with my own eyes..
Some sort of a polarity shift from the cables being hooked up backwards?

My guess is that the only way you're ever going to rectify this problem is to replace that radio.
Or use some black electrical tape, or black spray paint, to eliminate the clock altogether.
