Brake Lights Quit..Guages sweeping..
Hello...I am new here, and I hope that I am posting this in the right area. I have a 2002 F-350 7.3 Liter 4 Wheel drive. Here is my problem..
1. My brake lights quit working (I checked the bulbs), thought that maybe it was a fuse, but cannot find it in my owners manual.
2. About 2 weeks after the brake lights qiut working, the battery light came on and all of my guages started sweeping and then a few minutes later the truck would just die. Yes I was still driving with no brake lights..I would turn my running lights on when I would hit the brakes to alert people behind me. Just couldnt drive at night. Blinkers, head lights and running lights still worked. So after the truck died and I was on the side of the road, I turned my hazzards on and they were real weak, and eventually stopped working altogether. I couldnt roll my elec. windows down either. So my brother showed up and we was able to jump my truck off and I got about 10 miles down the road and the same thing happened again. We got back to our yard and checked the batteries, and found out that they were weak..So I went and bought 2 new batteries (had just bought 2 new batteries 8 months earlier). So the truck started up fine after installing the batteries..but the battery light is still on. I drove the truck home and havent driven it since 8-10-12 I am scared that I will be on the side of the road again. A few years ago there were some electrical issues with the truck and all I can remember is that it stemmed from the Windshield wipers. I had it put in a shop that time. Cost almost $2000 to get it out. That I do remember very well. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Than you
