7.3 PSD spittin and sputtering
my 1999, f-350. 2wd, auto trans, 7.3 L turbo power stroke, super duty. w/190,000 mi. last month I was crusing along at appx. 45 mph when my truck started to spit and sputter and not accelerate. I pulled over and shut it down. When I started again, it ran fine but started acting up again a little later. It kept this up( spit and sputter, turn off, run fine) for a couple of days. I finally took it to my battery shop and had the batteries checked and found one was quite low. Figureing this was the problem causing the computer to kick out and turning off and on was resetting it, I changed both batteries and was happy as a clam, until yesterday. The service eng. light came on and spittin, sputtering and no acceleration. Pulled over, turned off, turned on (the engine) and everything runs fine for awhile.
Help me please!

Sounds like loose UVCH. Here's a great post about checking and fixing.

Could be your Cam Position Sensor (CPS). They are notorious for going out, and causing all sorts of weird running / start / stalling issues. About $20 online, 10 minutes to replace. In fact, there is a factory recall...so if you haven't had it replaced, take it to your dealer and they'll do it for free.
But as mentioned, checking your UVCH connection under the valve cover, and shimming it with a quarter (50 cent mod) may be it.
