it typically takes a few minutes of cranking to get it to restart. i just fill it with fuel, take off the lid to the fuel bowl and fill it up, and crank in about 30 second intervals, giving roughly two minutes between cranking periods to let the starter cool. should fire after a few rounds of that

cool guys. Ive read of people collapsing lines and **** and I was bugging out a little bit. I switched to the other tank and drove one of my other vehicles today, Ill do it when I get home. I just hope I didnt hurt anything.

Ive got another question, Im getting some driveline noise at about 27mph. Sounds like a whinning noise (not the turbo)....sounds like its in the driveshaft. I can feel a very minor vibration in the drivers floor board when it comes about. Its subsides at just over 40 mph....anything I should look for? Ujoints? carrier bearing? Just asking.

I just had the tranny built. It was doing it prior to the tranny being built and I expected the noise to not be present after the build, but it is. Ive had some people drive the truck and no one seems to hear it but me. Its really annoying. Its an E4od automatic btw. Its not in the motor as the noise is only present at certain speeds and is not rpm related at all. Just occurs between about 27 and 40 mph. Im stumped. Maybe Im being ****, but Id rather be **** that have something dick up on me.

the way the noise comes and goes I assumed it was the carrier bearing. Ujoint was my second guess but they usually vibrate and clunk like hell. Thanks. Do you know how many carrier bearings that our trucks have? Thanks again

sweet. should be straight forward. Last time I replaced a carrier bearing it was a SOB, but it was on a BMW. Is this truck a bear to change or not? The part isnt much money at all but Im wondering on the job. Its not affecting anything but it just annoys the hell out of me.

Just don't crank in long intervals, 15-20 seconds, then take a break for a couple minutes for the starter to cool down. If you crank a lot check the hpop resevoir and fill if necessary as it can drain down from excessive cranking. Put a charger on the batteries if you have one.

I agree with all the solutions for the first problem. I'm interested in the second problem. Mine is making that noice also, is the carrier bearing hard to replace?

I usually just take the shaft to our local machine shop..but ive done other vehicles and older fords the same way I do it in semi truck at work...trusty ole air hammer and some pipe to drive the new one on....im sure othrs will chime in as this is primitive method I'm sure somebodys got a better idea...machine shop works too usually only get me for 15 or 20 dollars
