Just came across this on Ebay 150K miles, just don't know if its an early or late truck.....looks pretty darn nice IF you like the '11 looks but still want a 7.3

I am probably in the minority but this just seems like a waste of money to me.
I am not fond of the 2011 Super Duty styling at all. Every time I see one I think "there is a face that only a mother can love..." This morning I saw a brown one, it was really unattractive looking

Maybe they will grow on me after a few years...

looks like a wrecked truck, all he has to do is replace the front end and tail gate, and dually fenders. I bet you will find it's been wrecked

 

on the styling of the newer trucks.....Every time i see an 08 with sealed beam headlights, all i can think of is the family truckster out of the Chevy CHase Family Vacation Movie because of the inverted headlights.

However, if that ebay one was 4x4, I would think hard about getting it. I like the looks of the 2011 models a lot more than the generation before.

 

I've seen people put 08 front clips, tailgates, and mirrors on 7.3s, but never seen anyone do a 7.3 up with a 2011 body.

To me that guy wasted a lot of money. Take all the money he spent in body parts and upgrade the engine and drivetrain instead. He would then have one badass PSD.

 

No accidents in the vin search...The question is why spend all that money to make a 99 into an 11 ? Maybe it is a like a "Why did you climb that mountain?" thing..."Because it is there and I have the money".

 

He may work at, or own, a body shop.

Sometimes they take on the darndest projects, just for the halibut!

My thoughts exactly! I've been telling my wife that for a while now. For whatever reason Ford felt the need to invert the headlight and tail lights on the newer models. They must have some junior designers on staff that needed something to do...
It comes out ok in the rear but up front it's 100% Family Truckster....just needs the wood grain body panels to finish the deal.

Supposedly the lower-mounted headlights are so that you don't fry the guy in the Honda in front of you at night with your lights. Isn't it nice that Ford promotes such courtesy?
