Love those cars too... My parents had one when I was a kid, it was the car they bought new after I was born since they couldn't fit 3 kids into a VW bug. They had it until 1977 or 78 when the frame finally rotted away from all the road salt.

Steve - Do you think Corey is trying to lose you on purpose???

Corey - I'll have to check the old family photos when I'm visiting the folks at Christmas... I know my dad still talks about that car and would love to have another one.

I remember it pretty well, it was lime green with black interior. We were the only family around that had four kids and a two door car, my dad was too much of a rebel to buy a station wagon, lol.

It is my favorite out of all the Galaxie styles. Reminds me of a big Fairlane

That is a sweet looking car Corey, my family had a 1966 LTD 4 door, Dark Green, with a vinyl top, I don't remember which motor it had.

I know our Galaxy had the 390... We only had one 4 door when I was kid, after the Galaxy rusted away, dad bought a used mid 70's Plymouth Fury that used to be an unmarked cop car. Only had that a short time and it was back to a two door 78 LTD (which I had to learn to drive in), then a couple different T-birds, and now my mom drives an 09 Mustang.

I think every 16 year old should learn to drive in a 70's tank... it builds character! lol

Oooh yeah, learning in a 78 LTD would just suck......lol.

I agree Rob, it also builds driving skill. None of that newer driver assist crap to make new kids lazy(er).

This is the best I can do... Ours didn't have the fancy chrome wheels, but dad did replace the factory hubcaps and white walls with baby moon hubcaps and black wall tires.

The only bad part about that experience was the 78 LTD was a big pile of junk... stupid thing used to break down on me all the time. Then, my dad tried to give it to me when I left for college... I'm not sure he just wanted to be rid of that car, or was trying to make sure I never came back home?!?!

Fortunately, he had a 75 highboy, so I drove that most of the time.
