Tire clearance pictures for Nitto 295-70-18's

I have a 2011 F250 SC FX4 6.2L short bed 4.30 gears with the camper package. It came with the Continental TR's in 275-70-18 and I added the Husky molded mud guards. Pacman51 had a good thread on his truck when he added the Nitto 295-70-18's and there was some questions about tire clearance, so I took lots of pictures to share.
Here is the truck with the new tires.

The Continental's are listed at 33.4" and the Nitto Terra Grapplers at 34.4. here is a picture of the two, the Nitto's have 65 psi, there is not that much difference but the nittos are squished from the truck weight.

The speedometer was reading higher than the GPS before, but with the new tires it matches the GPS reading.

Now for the front tire clearance.

The back of the front tire with the wheels straight.

The front of the front tire wheels straight.

The front of tire turned to the closest point.

The back of the front tire turned to its closest point. Not a very good picture but there is plenty of room.

And the rear.

Front of the rear tire

And the back

The back side was the closest, I could fit the 1-1/2" side of a 2X4 between the tire and the mud guard but it was tight. I took the truck for a ride and there was no tire noise and it was smooth up to 85 mph (as fast as I went) I like the tires but I did notice a decrease in fuel mileage according to the computer, but it is to early to tell for sure. I hope this helps with any questions you might have had on these tires.

Oddly I just ordered a set of 295 70 18 trail grapplers today. I also ordered a set of wheels too. I'm interested to see what it looks like. The new wheels are -12 offset so they will stick out about 1-2 inches and will close. I'll post pictures when I get them bolted on. Those look great scooter.

I would like to thank HarleyScooter for the pictures on the 295-70-18 nitto tire. I was looking to get the same size tires but i was hesitant because of clearance. Today I installed on my 2011 F250 lariat 295-70-18 nitto trail grabbers and they look great with no clearance issues.
I do have a few questions I would like to ask you though.

What tire pressure are you running in the front and rear? I trailer 5 Harleys from NY to Daytona every year in a 20 ft trailer. Would you be able to recommend a tire pressure when towing the Harleys?

Thanks for all of the great pictures you posted making my purchasing decision easy.

Here is a picture of my 295 70 18 trail grapplers. I've had them on since a couple days after Halloween. I love them so far. I've hauled my trailer once with them and it felt good. I'm only running 65 psi in all tires, but I'm considering working on the pressures a little.

My trailer loaded is usually only about 5k or so. Its a 7x16 enclosed with quads and camping gear. I was thinking of trying maybe 75 or so in the rears next chance I get.

250lariat, I am running the stock recommendation of 65psi in the front and rear. This size Terra Grappler is rated for over 4000 lbs per tire at 80 psi. I put some lines across the tread with the grand kids sidewalk chalk to see if the tire tread was making full contact with the road, the front seems ok at 65 psi but the back had some chalk on the out side edges so I will lower the pressure in the rears and check them again. I did put these on the stock 8" wide wheels so maybe a wider wheel 8-1/2" or 9" would make better contact with the road at 65 psi in the rear.

Here is the truck with the new tires.

HarleyScooter --- Nice looking setup! That tire size does the job...and fills in well.

Do you have pictures of what the -12mm offset looks like?

How'd this size work out? I'm getting 295/70/18's (replacing 275/7/18) on my 2016 F350 6.7. I do haul a Truck Camper so with the weight settling down the truck I hope it works.. big mistake if not.
