E.R.W, Nice build, it's good to see another truck brought back to life instead of just scrapping the rough parts.
As for the "dead horse" part of the thread about a non-Ford engine in it, if Mopar works for you, go with it.

If I'm not mistaken, any NP-### Tranny or Transfer case was built by New Process Gear, a Chrysler owned company, changed to New Venture when GM got involved so a Mopar power plant is not unbelievable.

Myself, I'm putting "Mopar" NV4500 in my Ford truck because the GM one will not fit.

Keep up the good work, on the truck and the thread, I'm hoping to see some Video of it wheeling off road when it is done.

well i havnt made much progress except cleaning up the bottom of the cab for paint and welding and some more grinding. A lack of money has also been slowing me down but not for long after i get my tax return. I got a little surprise coming in the next week or two. hint: i wont be needing spark plugs.

Actually in the long run the Cummins would raise the value of his truck. I like seeing different builds. You know I thought it was cool that he was going mopar at first. I mean how often do you seem something like that? At the end of the day it's his truck his choice.

Say what you want about brand mixing but as long as it's American made that's all that would matter to me! P.S. I think it would be pretty sweet if someone considered throwing a twin turbo'd eco boost in a dent! I know it's too new of an engine right now to not cost an arm and a leg but it'd be sweet turbo 6's make loads of power.

Ask me how I know? Okay I'll tell you.... I've got a 1987 Buick Grand National single turbo putting 800 down to the rear wheels.

You might try a search for shortbed conversions to get the exact measurements of how much they took off the frame, moved the axle, etc. I assume you'll be getting rid of that 80s bed? I'd start looking now, they can be kind of hard to come in most parts of the country.

Why is it always a Ford that has some brand X motor swapped in. I never see a Chebby or Dudge with a Ford motor. smh

I'm sure that 451 is plenty bad, it's just the principle of the thing. Rant over. Good luck with it
That's because chevy/dodge boys have to have Ford's, but you never see a Ford man with a chevy/dodge with a Ford motor in it. I just don't understand it. Stay true to your breed. (the chevy spring's are a cheap way to lift it too. I've seen several done this way)
