I learned a long time ago that when something sounds too good to be true, it IS.

Silicosis is a terrible disease. You should see the poor fellas I take care of here who ran high-wall drills for 20 or 30 years before anybody even knew what a respirator was or cared.

I believe it Doc, I'm not trying to down play the dangers, I just don't think a one or two time exposure is going to do much. I make sure I have a respirator on and do it in a breeze to make sure the dust is blown away as much as possible. I've read a few on-line articles about the desease and it seems the case studies are of people you mentioned, people with long exposures.

I am also here in Austin Tx. I had my cab, frame, rear axle and front clip blasted and epoxy primed for less than $600. Still blowing sand out of cracks however.

Yeah, it seems like you'll never get it all out.

Rzns60, who did yours? The whole frame blasted and primed is 150.00 with paint is 175.00 and if they use epoxy it is 225.00. The body completely blasted and primed is 400.00

When you do it yourself you blow media out of more than just the cracks of your truck

I used AusTex Sandblasting. Place Sam recommended. The did a satisfactory job, took a while, but I was in no rush.
