Hello, I have a 2002 F350 Cab and Chassis with an 11 foot utility bed. Planning on adding a welding machine/air compressor/small crane. I recently purchased a front and rear suspension for a 2005 F450 with plans of rebuilding/painting them for a rolling chassis. My question is will my 2002 cab work on a 2005 frame both being regular cab 165 inch wheelbase? Thanks in advance for any replies.
Every state has different laws, but the cab has VIN at the base of the windshield and on the door tag, I don't know if or where the frame has it. Also on the engine, I believe.
I live in the Houston Texas area where the registration fees are calculated off of the GVWR. I believe the F350 is 10K and the F450 is rated for 14K. My 7.3 engine serial number doesnt match the cab or the tranny. The courthouse goes off of the cab VIN to calculate cost.
I'm not talking about registration costs, I'm talking about how the title has to be processed to use major parts from another vehicle. You'll probably end up with a home-built or reconstructed title which will absolutely destroy the vehicle's value and possibly make it difficult to insure.
