Sterling 10.25 fits Highboy

Category: Accessories
Price: $400
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Item Condition: WI
Engine: Part suitable for gas truck

Hey guys, I'm selling the 10.25 Sterling out of my F250 highboy. It has 4.10's, with the factory clutch type posi. I have a welded carrier I can throw in too. The tubes are welded, it has a 1410 yoke, and it has a crush sleeve eliminator kit installed. The brakes were all new when I installed it, including the drums that were $70 a piece. It was sandblasted, epoxy primed, and sprayed Dupont Imron Black. I'll throw in a set of never pulled with axles too. The perches are narrowed to fit the stock highboy leaf springs, and the pinion is set at zero degrees. It has traction bar brackets installed too, but they would be easily removable. Is $400 out of line? Best offer? I came across an 11.5 AAM with 4.10's for reasonable, that's the only reason I'm selling it.

Thanks for looking,

Jared in Wisconsin. 608-358-0045

Thanks bud. I use my truck in some sled pulling events during the summer months. We usually drop the pinion down some to account for the axle wrap we get into sometimes. Being a two joint shaft, the pinion SHOULD be the opposite of the t-case output as you probably know. T-case output on mine is 5 degrees negative, so the pinion should be pointed up 5 degrees in a perfect world. We commonly drop the pinion 5 degrees to allow for wrap, thus the 0 degree pinion. It is not ideal for u-joint wear, but it doesn't hum at all at any speed. Changing out joints at 25k miles vs. 35k miles is a non issue for me, though I understand if it might be for others. They do make angle shims in 2.5 degree increments for these perches if one were to want to adjust the angle without moving the perches. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for asking!

Thats sweet man.

I just learned about pinon angle a little bit too. I lowered my '67 last year and my pinon was angled up. I Just added a 4* shim to my spring pack to bring it back down. No more shimmy when I take off. Kinda crazy how that works.
