trailer wiring harness with 4 pin and 7 pin plug

I have a 99 F250 Super duty with the 7.3. The trucks current trailer wirring harness has a 4 pin connector and a 5 pin connector(5 pin was spliced in to the factory wiring harness). I want to remove this wiring harness where it plugs in and replace it with one that has the 4 pin and 7 pin connector combined. All I've seen on the internet for ones that are plug in replacements to where the factory setup plugs in (grey connector) are not combined. Basically, you can only buy a 4 pin, or a 6 pin, or a 7 pin separately. Anybody know where you can buy one for this factory plug in with both a 4 pin and a 7 pin connector combined?

I had one on my 99 and 08, so your Ford dealer comes to mind.
Other then that, I'm just guessing....eTrailer? PPLMotorhomes?

i just did this on my e99. May not be how others would handle it but I cut the harness and spliced on the new plug, tucking the 4 way wires up and wrapping them in electrical tape. The 7 way plugs that have the integrated 4 way only use the wiring for the 7 way, the 4 way is wired internally to the plug. I can snap a couple pics if it will help you.

Yeah, i was thinking i may have to splice the wires in to the current factory harness like you did. I believe the Tractor Supply Outlet here in town sells those generic connectors that aren't made for a specific vehicle plug that have both the 4 and 7 pin on it. If you have a free minute, pictures would be appreciated, but don't go out of your way to do it as I can probably figure it out.

Was hopeing I could just do a plug and go setup on this, but sounds like nobody makes one for the 99 super duty with both connectors.

I read on some other internet sites that the dealer charges about $180 for these harnesses, so doubt i'll go that route. Probably just splice in the wires myself with one of those generic setups. Tried eTrailer and some other sites with no luck for the ones that just plug right in place of the factory setup.

Yeah, i am close to a few. Did the 99s come from the factory with both a 4 and 7 pin connector? My factory setup just had the 4, but also has the wires there for adding an additional connector( assuming the 6 or 7 pin connector), so I just assumed this is the way they all are set up. But maybe i'm wrong.

Do you know if yours with both the 4 and 7 came set up that way with the original truck, or did someone have the 7 added later?

I'd think if you found one at the junkyard it would be plug & play, there are 2 plugs to undo & the 2 bolts that hold the bracket for the 7 - 4 connector

I do believe that both were factory, both had been setup to tow a 5er, so no reason for the original owners to mess with the bumper wiring

I bought new from the dealer and yea, it was expensive! Originally I wanted to splice into the original harness it had but the wires were burnt and corroded and wouldn't take solder so I just bought a new one. I like the oem set up. Once I had that installed I spliced into that harness and ran my trailer lights for in bed and my rack lights. That way the factory harness wasn't opened to the element! Also all the wiring on my trailers and truck accessories get soldered. Hopefully the extra effort will pay off and not corrod or come loose in a crimp!
