Absolute best would be Kelderman probably. Best reasonable priced kit is BDS... If you want it to ride nice you'd better get the Fox shocks, the BDS shocks are really harsh.

Agreed. I'll be replacing my BDS shocks with FOX when the time comes.

Rough Country makes a good one that is affordable. I dont own it yet, but have rode in a few that have installed them. Either way no matter what you go with will be a improvement over the factory ride, IMO.

My X is the 7th lifted truck/SUV I've owned and this is the first time I've run a BDS lift. Very happy with it and would put it up at the top for overall quality and ride quality.

Good point on the Fox shocks. I'm running the Fox 2.0 dual shocks up front, but the BDS shocks in the rear. Once the Fox 2.0 is available for the rear I'll be upgrading.

If you like the idea of no blocks on the rear then go with the Icon all spring kit. Many are not fans of the rear blocks. If you want to save money then install truck springs for more lift and less money.

It's your choice.

Just did the Rough Country 5"
Very happy thus far. Rides well. I did not have any issues with steering wander prior to the lift and this continues to be the case. No vibrations or other unexpected surprises.

Matt, I am eyeing up the RC lift as well. I'm just concerned about the lift blocks for the rear. Seems a bit much. Too much potential energy there to tweak to the side. I would at least install a rear track bar to keep things straight. That's what I am considering. I haven't really looked for one for the Ex, but I can make one in my shop with heavy guage pipe and some heim joints from the race shop.

At any rate, let me know how it rides after a while. Really interested in seeing what the long term viability of this kit is. Thanks!

Will keep you posted.
This is my first lifted truck, so I can't comment much on the viability of the rear blocks.
I saw several positive reviews of it on other threads and it was recommended to me by the shop that installed it. The guy who did it said that he has had good success with the Heckthorn/R.C. On Exs. Specifically noted that it is one of the few that is made for Ex and that the anti-wrap setup for the rear axle is good.

So far so good.

Right now I have a lifted Ex rollin on p265s, but my wheels should be in this week and we can see how the new shoes fit under the lift

I will learn to post pics at some point and show some before and after

Your X stock?

If so, Ford makes the best kit IMO. The springs for a Superduty typically give guys 3-4" of space. Add some longer shackles and an adjustable track bar if you can fit 35's on that alone.

Most aftermarket stuff doesn't ride as nicely as stock unless you spendcsome crazy $$$.

If you do aftermarket, my suggestion is Icon.
