Changing axle U joints on a 2006 f350

I know everything has to come apart.

Anything special I have to do with auto locking hubs? I know they are not exactly the same as maunal locking...

Also, I can just use a vice to press the new u joint in? Or do I really need to use a press?

Can't help you on the ujoints, but on the hubs, you'll need to get a service kit from Ford that has new o-rings and bolts, they're pretty explicit on not reusing the o-rings. They even give you 2 in the kit, one to test fit and one to actually use.

Would be a good time to clean them up and relube them anyway...here's a link to doing that.

Quick question...I have taken the 3 bolts off and the turn **** off, but the whole hub didn't come out...

How do I get the entire thing to come out?

Wow, pretty sure they're supposed to come out in a unit, like the pics in that link I posted. If you're lucky you might be able to get them back together and pull the whole thing out...if not I think you're looking at a new hub. And no one makes a replacement for the 2005 and up hubs, so you're stuck w/ Ford. It all just slides out though, there's no rings or clips holding the locking hub itself in.

For the hub removal, just tap around the hub with a rubber mallet. They are just snug on the O-ring. Turning the **** won't help.

Well, I know my 4X4 still works, So I don't think my hubs are bad...atleast I hope not.

I took off my pass side to lube it up since it was hard to turn, I didn't take off my driverside, thats the side I am doing since its bad.

Im going to do this tonight. So hopefully it all goes smoothly. Who knows
